Resist the Urge to Buy Me Chips
February 4th, 2010
I always like a good poker related gift. Give me a WSOP themed shirt, a cool deck of cards, or some poker knickknack and I am happy. The one thing that you should never get me as a gift, however, is a set of chips. I don’t mean to be rude. Every gift should be evaluated on the basis of the thought behind it, not the actual present itself. online poker chips are really the grand exception. The thing about poker online chips is that every set is so different. There are cheap sets that you can buy at any decent store’s discount rack and there are the sets that are works of art in themselves. I like the ones that lie somewhere in the middle. The solid, hard working type of set that will hold up to a long online poker game late into the evening. The problem is that most people don’t know exactly want I want. They will get me something that I would not have chosen for myself. Then I would be forced to trot out a set that I don’t like every time that my so-called friends come over for poker night. Don’t inflict that on your friends. Let them choose the poker chips that they actually want.
